Instructions for Vehicle Cleaning from a Licensed Local Car Detailing Service Provider
If you have just bought a new vehicle and you want to always look as good as it does now, you’d better read this post with instructions on performing a quality
car detailing service. We hope that you will find it useful.
- Wash the vehicle. The two bucket method will help you protect your auto paint. You may use some dish soap in order to remove the old wax if that is necessary.
- Dry the vehicle. Thick microfiber towels will do a good job if you do not have a reliable blower at hand.
- Clay the vehicle. Use new, good and clean clay bar to clay the car. Don’t forget the windows, headlamps and tail lamps.
- Polish the vehicle. Polish is required only in those cases when you will have to do some paint correction. Pick your compound and buffing pads according to your polish needs.
- Glaze the vehicle paint. Applying a quality glaze will increase the depth and gloss in the auto paint. The good news is that you will only need to apply one layer to get the results that you want.
- Seal the vehicle paint. You should spread a really thin layer of sealant in order to get the expected results. Each coat of sealant will need at least one hour to cure and bond to the paint.
- Wax the vehicle paint. The wax that you apply needs to be really thin, and each coat should be given 1 to 24 hours cure time.
- Microfiber. You need to remove the tags from microfiber products in order to minimize the risk of running the paint.
- Wheel and tire dressing. Any tire dressing should be applied in thin even coats.
- Exterior trim. In order to achieve optimal car detailing service results, degrease your trim prior to applying dressing. Make sure that the dressing which you have chosen has UV protection.
- Use a glass cleaner to minimize streaking when you are done. If you have tinted windows, you should never use an ammonia-based glass cleaner.
